STREET RUNNER
Back in January, motivated by Randy Cooper's upcoming Spinner (and possible Sedan), I decided to attempt my own sculpt in the same scale - but as a figure that could be displayed standing, outside of the aerodyne.

SLOW START
This may be a slow project, but I finally found some time to get started - if only as an initial study. Most of my past sculpts have been at a slightly larger scale. Keeping this to 1/12 with a fair amount of detail is a bit more of a challenge, but then it wouldn't be much fun if it was too easy. Smile

More later. . .

Thanks Andy. It's rough and needs a lot of fine tuning, but at least it's a start. Thinking about using a LA manhole cover for the base . . .

Well well well, you've hidden this particular skill from the bunch of us Rep13. So you don't only juggle the fonts and the BR covers set-up but you also sculpt...and quite nicely at that. Love it already and eager to see it stand near the Spinner Cool

I'm also tempted to follow it up with a pilot figure, possibly standing with cane (a la the closing scene), or climbing in (or out of) the Spinner. Perhaps with alternate heads -

While on the subject - Should anyone feel generous (and trusting), since I can't quite afford the Cooper Spinner (as yet), I would love to borrow a seat from it, for the purpose of measuring. I would promptly return it undamaged.

Please PM if you feel so inclined . . . or perhaps that should be "reclined".

No. Although I fully intend to buy a kit when funds allow, I assumed he is not in the business to loan out parts . . . Confused

A little more face work, from three angles . . .

(CLOSE TO ACTUAL SIZE)

When finished it will be cast as separate pieces TBD.

Randy is an amazing talented artist... and very personable. I would Definitely contact him with your idea, he may even be in the market to help distribute them... who knows? I am also waiting to afford the spinner, and the grounded one as well... LOL Very Happy

1967 -

No doubt, but you used to be able to contact him directly from his site. Now (with the redesign) you have to register, sign in and all that. I've tried to contact him that way in the past, but I'm unsure it got through(?) - never got a response. And I know he's on FaceBook, but I've avoided that one like the plague, so unless he sees this post, I may just have to wait until (like you) I can afford the kit . . .

I just hope my 1/12th scale is HIS 1/12th scale. Smile

I took the liberty of letting him know what you had produced, and mentioned you may try to contact him. If you want, send me a PM with any info you want me to send to him, since i am completely addicted to FaceBook LOL

Thanks, 88! But still making adjustments to the face, as I move on to other tiny details -
