I was really excited to of had the opportunity to show off some of my original items used during the making of our favourite film. Apart from my web site they have not been seen in public since i have owned them.
I took some pictures and hope you like them.

I only have like 3 small "screen used" pieces. In my entire collection of
over 100 props.
That is just amazing to me. How you manage to amass a specialized set.

And you have some really kick ass stuff there. Thanks for sharing.

Great collection!

Really good of you to put it on public display, so people can see it.

Cheers,

Karl

Thank you for all the kind words, much appreciated. I took the plunge and had all the display cases and frames made to be able to display the items properly, I really was only used to seeing the props etc in cardboard boxes and bubble wrap so seeing them like this was like seeing them for the first time. I was worried that there may not have been as much interest in the film or props because of the age of the public that attended. I was happily proved very wrong indeed and in fact amazed that younger people loved the film and were fascinated by the props. There were a lot of families attending comic con so the sons and daughters were being introduced to Blade Runner by their mums and dads, and so it continues.
Out of interest and not done strictly this time I done a little survey that had very interesting results. As I said will do it better next time but I asked the question " What did you think of the first Theatrical cut with Deckards narration" we'll to my surprise nearly all said that secretly they actually liked it but thought that because it was officially not liked by Ford and the critics they must not like it either.
I am planning to attend further Conventions and am going to use the opportunity to gather more information and people's responses.

There has to be a great feeling when, instead of just keeping these items to yourself at home, you get to share them with others and meet others that are into the film as well. I have had a couple of chances to display my collection, or parts of in a library, but that is about it. I envy both your collection, and your ability to share it. What a wonderful thing, and I wish you lived so much closer Wink

Wow. Thank for posting the pictures! I'd love to be able to see your collection in person, and sit and chat Blade Runner for a time.

What a beautiful display, I'm not surprised so many people stopped to look and chat.

Aww dam! I would have definitely gone if I'd known about this Shocked I deliberately avoided it as the last comicon I went to was a bit of a disappointment, too much anime/cosplay overload Mad Great collection. Let us know when/where your next exhibit will be Smile

TFS your collection with us Geoff. Always a pleasure to see it, as you said, displayed and unwrapped; looks much better that way. Cool

Eager to see what the survey will give you

Hi Gary
I purchased the badges some years ago from screen used.com. They are made of metal and are very heavy. They also have the name of the actor that wore them on the back. The badges are the ones that are in the screen grab.
Kind regards
Geoff
