Hi everyone,

i recently purchased a BSG S1 colonial sidearm from Matsuo. As i wanted to have a stand for it i've tried to design an affoardable stand for the gun.

It's available here : http://shpws.me/nH3x

Pics of the stand as is :

I'm going to try and do something metallic for the lettering on the side and then something red for the BSG on the front. More on this later Smile

Here's my Matsuo gun in all it's glory :

Feel free to comment Very Happy

Thx for the compliments, glad you like it Very Happy

Finished customizing my stand recently. Decided for matt red(ish) BSG lettering and metallic looking on the sides. Used a dipping method with a piece of cloth wrapped tight around my finger to apply the paint.

The detailing on the lettering on each side seems to vary. Onze side was good as is, the other needed more maual detailing as the grooves in the lettering weren't there. One day the 3D printers will get it right Wink

Here's some pics :

The colours are making it better I usually use a very fine brush for little details like buttons, letters, etc...I tried your method before and, unless I did something wrong, it didn't quite matched your results Confused

Thx Joberg. Smile I actually started with a very fine brush, but when doing that i got this idea of a piece of cloth wrapped around my finger could give me a better result. As far as my experience with this method goes is that you need to layer it up and us just a little bit of paint at a time and then fold the cloth before wrapping it around your finger. This way you spread the paint in the cloth which prevents too much paint in one place.

You're welcome and thanks for the mini tutorial Wink As you said, the cloth keep the paint "in check" so to speak, but I had, in the past, better and faster results with a very small paint-brush

No problem as long as there's a nice result in the end, each method is a good one i'd say Wink

That's...REALLY NICE. I own the new Matsucorp Season 1 Clamshell, Artist Proof #001 with COA. I could use one of those stands for it. Are you selling them? Please let me know.
