I recently came across the June issue of Heavy Metal from 1982.
It has an article of the upcoming film from the director of Alien.
I searched and couldn't find reference to it in the archives here, so enjoy!
It's interesting to see it explained from such an under analyzed point of view.

(Please forgive the quality of my scans. I was trying to do it without wrecking the magazine.)

Hey guys,
I've posted a lot of magazines I've collected over the years about Blade Runner.
I posted 72dpi web versions and 300 dpi versions that will print clearly.

Just saw this post. Fascinating!

The part in the article where Mead says "And the street level will become like the sewers or underside of the city..."

For some reason that just blew my mind! It's almost unthinkable to imagine that could happen...well, maybe not!

I live in New York, it's not so unimaginable. Shocked

I keep telling you people, Blade Runner and Minority Report are DYSTOPIAN VISIONS OF A MISERABLE FUTURE, not a blueprint for BUILDING it... Rolling Eyes

But thanks for the great magazines! I miss Starlog, Heavy Metal, OMNI...

Internet Archive has a great collection of those magazines for download, BTW. Cool
