I actually picked up a couple of these because I plan on customizing one of them and stripping the awful paint job off. It is probably the best for costuming, pretty durable and lots of function. Not too realistic looking. If only they put just a bit more metal on it, it would have been one of the best of the replicas. Comes apart real nice too. The ones on eBay would ship quicker and include postage too. For the RPF'ers. Someone is selling off a case of them for $175 a piece. I think they may be trying to get rid of them before they get the C&D though. |

I have also heard that England is about to put into effect some kind of importation ban on toy guns.
I guess some Brits are getting nervous about getting there hands on a BR Blaster before it happens. |

UK'ers have until October 2007 (approx six weeks from the date of this post) to import replica firearms. |

I'm afraid it does I think. It even includes toy cap guns and spud guns.

I'm seeing these everywhere - how accurate are they?
I won't be able to get hold of any of the WorldCon metal versions coming out so need to make a decision now. |

They are not all that accurate, but only a hard core fan would be able to tell. A lot of plastic in the gun which is why I think it sold worse than anticipated. The plastic is ABS, so it is pretty durable, but it is also pretty lite and feels pretty toy like. It has quite a few functions including a removable Clip with built in LED's and switch, Fully movable Bolt, and opening cylinder. Also forgot to mention the trigger and hammer work as well. It could probably be converted to fire caps if so desired. It is also painted in metal flake silver and gunmetal which makes it pretty fake up close. The best part is that it field strip real nice and could easily be modified to look decent. The price for a build-up is pretty nice, but I wish the finishing were more realistic. Probably a better CosPlay gun than display piece.
All in all it is a fun gun to play with, But if you really want accuracy, you would have to go with Rich Coyle. Just remember his are pretty much display only. It all depends on what you want it for. I think any chance for a licensed one will not happen unless the DVD set sells real well, so it won't be untill after December. To late for you unfortunately.
Good luck and any other questions you have, you know where to find me |

I know this will probably tick some of you off, but I have to say that while not exactly accurate, I think if you were to repaint the gun, you would have something much better than a Coyle. The electronics in his prop look like a rat's nest and the gun creaks like old floor boards. This whole argument that it's only for display is a cop out for shoddy workmanship. Plain and simple.
Sorry to those who prefer a Coyle. They are very substandard even as a display piece. And my God the money he wants is just silly.
I'd wait for the new SidKit.
My 2 cents. |

Thanks for the input. I think I'm just going to have to stay with my Coyle v4.8 as time is running out. |

I've been hesitant to get one of these because it seems like it'd be just the same as my Hartford models, but as Andy said, kind of toy like, but that price lowering under $200 makes it damn inviting, doesn't it?
I do want one just to help complete my blaster replica collection though.

It is a lot harder to break and more importantly, less of a big deal if it does compared to a Hatford, or Coyle.
I am also looking into a machinist friend of mine recreating the butt plate and outer grip frame in metal. A new paint job on them would go a long way as well. I almost wish they just molded the plastics in black and left the metal as is. I have some flat black Krylon Fusion paint that I want to use on the ABS parts. The trick may be stripping it of the original paint job. If I feel real good I may try to replace the barrel too. I already have a cylinder from a Charter Arms 386.
It doesn't have the heft of a Sidkit, or the accuracy of a Coyle, or the sleek design of a Rick Ross, or the full function of a Hartford, but for the money I don't in any way regret buying it. It certainly gets more one on one time with me than any of the others.
I have seen it for sale in England through Comet Miniatures, but their price is as usual 'extreme'. If it ever goes below $100, I may end up buying another though. It is in short a 'Fun Gun'. |

I've been using Automotive Paints and really liking how they look and how well they adhere...a little spendy though.
EAGLE---you might try one of these but I don't know
anyone who has purchased one yet:

That's the same as the MIM, and one you see on Ebay. Only with a better photo to market it. All come from the same source in China.
Parks made a deal with them I here. |

I think there is even a guy at the RPF who is selling them for $175 right now.
For the price, it really is not a bad deal. _________________ www.propsummit.com
