My box has landed and it's absolutely stunning. Truly beautiful, I love it!

The dark stain perfectly compliments my Man Cave, too.

Thanks so much for this run. The pics don't do the box justice, it's even lovelier in reality.

Going to spend the evening just gazing at it!

The single case left from Jedisushi's departure has now been claimed. So all are spoken for.

Still waiting to hear from Vader....

So, I feel we've waitied long enough for Vader to respond.

I understand if people have issues with finances, health problems, they change their minds. It happens.

I do mind radio silence, and just going quiet when payment is due for an item you ordered. A lot of time, effort and money goes into making these.

I'm declaring Vader's box fair game. So, if anyone missed out on the MK1 box run and would like the box, it is now available.

PM me.

That's it.
The last case is now sold, pending payment.

This closes the MK1 case run.

Many thanks to everyone who joined in.
I'll keep the MK2 thread updated, but this one is now done.

Just got back from a two-week business trip to Malaysia that my employer saw fit to send me on. With no internet connection available for private use.

But apparently I've been "radio silent" ... after the delays in getting this done, I'd have expected the tolerance for delays in payment to be more forgiving, too. That the "things can happen" door can swing both ways.

Apparently not.

"That's it", indeed.

Vader,

I'm not having this.

The place for complaints about me and my service are by PM, not out in an open forum.

You wrote a PM to me and I replied to it.

Now this.

There was a good run up to the boxes being finished. There was ample advance notice the boxes would be finished and when, then there was over a week's grace from them being finished to when I decided yours was to be made available, since I'd heard nothing at all from you.

Nothing.

The 'delays in getting this done' were also explained. We ran up close to Christmas, and I decided to ship afterwards. The weather has been cold, not good for staining and lacquering wooden objects.

Everyone else checked in, were kept up to date, paid when the boxes were finished and now have them.

You are the only one who failed to check in, keep up, settle payment and get the box your ordered.

I also explained to you by PM that there is a place left on the MK2 box run which you could take and I would hold it for you.

Because of this snide attack on my good self, on a public forum, please consider the offer withdrawn.

Good luck to you, Sir.

For the record:

During my absence, I had received two PM's, two days apart, going from curt to ... . I responded by PM, explaining my circumstances.

I then saw this thread, and could see that sometimes ... things can move a bit faster than at other times. No "final warning" or anything like that had been communicated to me privately; all was done here in public.

Then I received a PM in return, in which the accusation of "radio silence" from this thread was repeated, along with basically a "blame yourself -- this is what happens when you run into your situation" comment, and a generous offer to be put on the waiting list for an unclaimed box from the 2nd run.

With a business ethos like what I had just been subjected to ... not likely.

Noting that explanations on one part are offered and accepted (indeed, expected to be accepted without comment) and an explanation on the other part is offered and dismissed is not making "snide remarks", but merely stating facts.

And that I should not be allowed to respond publicly to the public "radio silence" accusation without getting an "I'm not having this -- you are blacklisted!" response in return ... simply defies words!

Fool me once, shame on you -- fool me twice...

Well, there will not be a second time.

Best of luck with your business, Sir.

You want it out here in public, fine.

I tried to keep this as polite as possible.

I've done everything possible to keep everyone informed of developments and updates.

You were given the same information as everyone else. No one else got private messages about the state of the project. No special individual treatment. Everyone else kept track of the updates on the thread WHERE THEY ARE ALWAYS POSTED.

If you check, you'll see I have an excellent reputation for updating threads and keeping my word.

From my point of view you signed up, went quiet and failed to pay when due. When your circumstances were explained I offered you a place on the and run.
Don't want it? Fine.

I won't respond again.

Very best of luck and do keep working on those people skills.

Again, for the record: I tried to resolve this privately. The polite response I got basically amounted to "blame yourself".
I had however had public accusations directed at me, which could no got unanswered. Karl however seems morally convinced that only he has the right to point fingers in public on Propsummit.

For having "gone quiet" after signing up, I must say I've posted a remarkable number of times on this thread.
I leave the interpretation of Karl's rhetoric technique to the reader.

And again -- Karl failed to deliver "when due" as per his own original commitment. He offered excuses, and these excuses were accepted.
And indeed, I failed to pay when the time to pay suddenly, finally, was published, this I do not dispute in any way -- but for reasons beyond my control. I offered those reasons, and Karl dismissed them utterly.

For nothing else than noting this discrepancy in the same forum where he publicly accused me of "radio silence", Karl has seen fit to blacklist me.

It may be worth noting that Karl refused point-blank to accept any payments in advance. I would have offered to do so, but having seen (and at times experienced) his usual friendly and flexible way of responding to requests outside of what he has decided he is going to offer, I knew better.

Anyway, I wish him all the luck he deserves in his future business endeavours. As for "people skills" ... we may all of us be lacking in those; however, I do sincerely doubt I am the one here with the greatest need to develop them.

Wow.

I'll say it again.

Everyone else in the run kept an eye on the updates, settled up and got their boxes.

What, exactly was the 'original commitment' I 'failed to deliver on'?

When you finally did contact me, I had already let your box go to another on the waiting list after having allowed what I consider to be a reasonable time for you to get in touch. You didn't.

'Radio silence', yes the very nastiest of public slurs. What do you call it when someone doesn't get in contact after many updates and several promptings? Please advise.

I've had no complaints from anyone else. Just you.

I've said my piece, you've said yours. People will make up their own minds.

This now seems to be a deliberate attempt to damage my reputation.
Please stop.
