Well, until I find a foil "kanal" label, I'm calling this one done.

I went for somewhere in between the two versions that popped up. A little stylized to my liking for fun.

My base was a PRC6 not the 6/6 so it was slightly different. I added the "rivets" to the face side and clasps. Actually drilled small holes, then glued in various nail heads.

My friend cut the vinyl serial number, the MISU, and a stencil for the big numbers off of files I drew up trying to match the original.

All the rest of the decoration is hand done with oneshot enamel. Strangely I found painting the kanji difficult, but enjoyed the Arabic. Would have figured the other way round.

I found a proper cap for the pin connector, because more dangly bits. My daughter and I scavenged the materials for the beaded accessories and yarn pom.

Hardest part was recreating the channel window insert. Ended up with a simple and wildly convincing solution. Just made up a number strip in illustrator with some fade on either end to make it appear round. Then glued that to a small scrap of ABS that I heated and formed to the inside curve of the cover. Finding a curved "window" proved to be the trickiest, but then digging through my junk drawer found a sheet of those little clear stick on feet for lamps and stuff. Perfect size, curved to fit, and even looks sorta yellowed. Drilled the cover and glued the piece to the inside. I chose channel 4 instead of 5 because my wife and I were married 4/4/04. I try to sneak that in where I can. Also added the Kanji of her name to the strap.

A couple pics of the finished piece
