OK! I think that I finished my work on this important parts. Considered that I received also 30 private emails I will start to cast it. If someone has some other particular that think could be improved, please say to us now. In two days I will start to make it as is. I will list more images about the right cover so you can say me if is or not so good. As you know the important parts, That I consider hand made" are those parts that we can copy as the steyrs ones". So I want to give my best to those ones. On the rests we know the history and it will be difficult made mistakes. I also revised my grips making some minimal change and after done I will show them. I know that a lot of you will not accept this my apinion, but I made different coloured grips and the ones that seem to be more closed are the one that I have made not completely in cristal transparent resin. But I will show to you later them.

Thanks
Sid.

I made new grips color. Now they are no more super crystal but they are more opalescent. The first image has been taken with natural light and the second one using the flash.

Just to share some tricks. To make my grips I am using a special epoxy two component resin. It take 12 hour to be dry but the result is a supercrystal plastic grips. Now in my think the WorldCon grips are not crystal but they are more opalescents. So to obtain that I simply added to my resin some talcum powder:wink: .Also you know that all resin are aggressive and will ruine your rubber mould. With rubber moulds the first piece will be clear and going on to the csating the surface will be every time more opaque. This is the problem that Richard included have with his grips. Also to make a loong run production you have to make a lot of rubber moulds and their life is very low. Well, I resovled this problem with a simple way. When you have to repruduce a piece with not much squared surface you can use the vacuform way. A lot of collectors that bought my prcedent kit asked how they could be made so crystal grips. When I will make the production I will share some images about my plastic vacuformed moulds. I use a very clear plastic so the surface results very shine, and the plastic I use is more less expensive than the white one. Also the Rubber is very expensive, depends the quality, but it is more expensive than use a vacuformed moulds.

Talk to you soon
Sid.

As I said, if I will able to make some parts that can upgrade my precedent kit I will do it. The grip frame and grips can upgrade the kit you have bought from me. You have to consider that this is possible thanks that the bugldog frame is a buldog frame, it not change everytime we made a new Blaster. I could have been a lying, as someone supposed. I could say "no sorry the new parts can't be made to fit to your old replica".So you could be constricted to buy only my new kit... NO!!! Please consider I made my best to not change my old buldog frame screws attachements. I talked with my friend Pinzerato that has supported me on ebay selling my kits and I am preparing the first small run of grip frame and grips upgrading for my precedent kit. So be happy!!! they will be for sale in about a week. But please support me on my new Blaster too. So consider to buy the new model to help me to cover the costs. Als I want to give a news, I was contacted to make a new interpretation of a futuristic Blade Runner Blaster, If I will be able to go on with your support you will see something of very cool.

Thanks to all
Sid.

Hi Siderio,

By far the most accurate grips I've seen. I can't wait so see more photos of your progress with the Worldcon. I think I speak for everyone when I say you are driving us crazy with anticipation.

More please!

Sidero,

I am impressed and excited with your progress. The clarity of the grips looks great and the color looks right on the money.

I remember discussing the clarity of the grips with Rick Ross and he suspected they might have used a polyester resin. The big problem he said with using it is the slow curing time and a high rate of rejection - limiting the usable number of grips.

Looks like you have achieved something wonderful. Smile

I have no idea if this project is on or off at this point, but FWIW:

One of the indicators of the grips being the correct size is how they line up with the bottom of the trigger guard when the top of the grip is as high as it should be on the frame.

The main arc of the finger notch just below the trigger guard ends approximately at a level just above the upper surface of the bottom of the trigger guard. One of the clear indicators that past versions of the prop had overly small grips was that this notch was too high whether or not the top of the grips was where it was supposed to be.

Although it's hard to be sure in the photos I've seen, I'm afraid the new grips may not be large enough to line up correctly, but perhaps I've missed something about how this has been evolving.
