I just got the same email and was wondering exactly the same thing.

I'm kind of thinking...the email said they were sold out, but more would be available in February and my name was on the list. It may be badly formed English, but I'm curious if they've had such great results that they're going to make more batches going forward (beyond the 750).

No, but supposedly they tried to get them licensed.

I got an email from them saying I was on the list for February.

So does that mean that they they only sold a portion of the current limited run now and the rest are going to be made in February? Or does that mean that they sold all of them and they are simply gonna make more of them in February?

They made them in batches. The first 100 for December (50 built up/50 kits). 100 more after that choice. I do hope they will consider extending the run though.

I was told that each of Tomenosuke Shoten's finished builds takes at least a day to complete, with members of the build team working on them production-line style (one modeler responsible for a particular part of each build, rather than individuals doing complete builds independently of one another). This means that, starting from the time the kits parts are ready, a run of 50 finished models takes almost two months to complete. This is probably one factor in the decision to release the models in waves.

According to the Hollywood Collector's Gallery website, the second round of sales for finished Tomenosuke Blasters will begin at 13:00 on Wednesday, December 24 (Japan time), and delivery of the Blasters will take place at the end of February 2009.

Just in case anyone is interested. Wink

There are various COD options for delivery inside Japan, but I haven't found any information about when payment will be expected for credit card or PayPal orders.

I'll ask Tomenosuke Shoten about this and post the answer here.

Please stand by. Very Happy

According to the website it is now sold out of all 200 kits. Sorry to those who haven't ordered one. Maybe a second run will be done with the success of this one.

Thanks for letting us know that the kit has sold through, Andy.

I'll add a question to my message to Tomenosuke Shoten, asking whether they anticipate making the kits available again and, if so, when.

Thanks for posting the shots of the Artist's Proof, Andy.

There are some interesting differences in the way they finished that one and the finish they gave to the completed models they sold through Hollywood Collector's Gallery.

I'm hoping to post shots of the finished model in the next couple of days.

WOW, Andy, that looks fantastic!! Is this your piece?? If not, did you say you were getting one? Which versions do you already own?

Artist Proof -- looks like they really nailed all the subtle weathering, one of the nicest replicas of the WorldCon piece I've seen.

No, the pics are from the Tomenosuke blog. They are finishing a very small number off as these proofs. No price mentioned either. My translator program is still very limited. Temponaut may be able to help.

Also No, I am not getting one. I can not afford one, and even if I could I would rather spend on more utilitarian items.

Well I'm sure that one day, we'll see these guns appear on e-bay and someone will laugh all the way to the bank.

I've already seen the kit version for auction on Yahoo! Japan, starting at JPY 110,000 (close to JPY 40,000 over the original cost). No bids yet.

Here's the link:

Sounds like a few of the kit orders have been canceled so there are a couple more up for sale HERE.
