Is your Medicom the clear blue one? The clear blue one was actually a special edition. The standard Medicom "Future Car" is... high gloss black. _________________ "Your old titles mean nothing here... Captain!" |

Syd Mead has one of the clear blue versions that can be seen in the BoingBoing Gadgets videos near the Lego spinner. I have also seen one with green windows, and another that is gloss black with white decals that are close to the BR police decals.

My spinner is the standard black one, but its not true gloss black, To get that effect you need to use an automotive high gloss black paint. The visual difference between the plastic mold black and the auto stuff is
vast. Heres my other conversion........

Yes, I see what you mean. After posting, I thought further about it and realized that the standard Medicom Future Car is black, but not really "high gloss black." There is a big difference.
When I bought my Spinners, I thought the clear blue one would be the better one for conversion to a Police Spinner... until I actually had it in hand. All of the parts of the model are clear blue, including the windows! The ideal conversion would require parts from both the clear blue and the standard black versions, I think. That way you could have the clear windows, but also have clear (blue) window parts for the lighted areas at the front of the wheels, etc.
That's a very nice Police Spinner conversion you did there, by the way! _________________ "Your old titles mean nothing here... Captain!" |

I really like snazzy concept cars like this, but always think they would look better covered with scratches, scrapes and dents. Maybe with a few well-placed bumper stickers.
The real beauty is in the breakdown! |
