I've been chucking mass quantities of stuff into the trash to regain space in my workshop, and just before this went in I took a close look at the gun. It *appears* to me that it shows the "laser" gunsight illuminated.
So I did a 96dpi scan.

(Source "Neues Filmprogramm" Oktober 1982, Preis DM -,50) It's some sort of fourfold b/w movie program, sold at the theater, I suppose.)

It scares me to think what kind of stuff ended up in your trash. If I lived close by I would be dumpster diving right now.

Cool photo Doc, Thanks for sharing it.

This piece of paper got a reprieve because of the gun. I can't tell for sure if the light is lit, or we're seeing a reflection. I know that's one piece of info people have been trying to document.

I found some Mead books in the same box, including Japanese Techno, something-or-other... colorful... looked like an ebay thing. Wink

This is one shelf in my workshop, a slice and dice panorama. Get the idea? I've gotta gain room for working projects.

If I think something's worth money, I'll funnel it to a friend of mine to sell. If it's truly archival, I'll archive it. But stuff for the sake of stuff has to come to an end...

Doc,

Sweet panorama of pop culture coolness.

If you come across any BR related material you are thinking about tossing, please keep me in mind because I don't care how inconsequential it is.

I'd be inclined to say its just reflected light as its the same brightness as the rest of the highlights on that side of the gun. Also if it was illuminated and that bright, why aren't the clip LEDs visible then?

Still with blu-ray one should be able to go to that scene and frame by frame it and see if the LED is lit.
