Yeah she is cool about it, She is just in shock that the "gentlmans" magazine is the exact same one as the movie, she was even doing slow-motion on our DVD and going "wow...wow. its exactly the same..." so guys, I pulled this one off pretty good |

He he, good catch Phil !!!
(but those are slightly different compared to the vintage ones used in the Nostromo mess : The hat are black instaed of yellow, the legs are red instead of orange and the shape of the beak is not totaly identical)

Yes Phil, this space kitchen hommage is very cool !
BTW, one of my friends told me he saw one of those birds used to detonate a bomb in another movie, alas he couldn't remember which one... Any idea guys ?

OK, I think I've finaly found the right blue feathers in... Belgium ! I'll post pics of the completed birds as soon as I'll get those damn things in my hands !
In the meantime, I'll start to post pics of small Nostromo props such as mugs, ashtrays, glasses and explain how to recreate them (for your enjoyment, I hope) !
Let's start with an iconic prop : The Nostromo mug !!!
When I've started to track those "dining room props", I've quickly realized that because of the chestburster sequence, many of those were probably plastic rather than ceramic or glass for ONE obvious reason : Nothing would break during Kane's frantic "without epidural" birth sequence !!!
The mugs were quite easy to track on eBay because when you think plastic tableware, you usualy think... TUPPERWARE !
Yes, it's as simple as that, those Nostromo mugs were Tupperware mugs... For those who'll try to find them, good luck because the white ones are the rarest (but they pop out regularly) !
What about the tiny Weylan yutani wings sticked on one side of those mugs ? Well, I've calculated their size by comparing screencaps and the mugs I had already found, then printed high quality stickers of those so if you need some, drop me a line...
Fred
Coming next : Nostromo ashtrays _________________ THE FUTURE IS A THING OF THE PAST |

Blue feathers in Belgium Fred?..funny , then again
Ah yes, Tupperware, well, as you can see, everything on that lunch table was made out of plastic...what about the cutlery; if my memory serves me well, they had plastic handles on them right? |

Yeah, it's the first time we have a glimpse of his socks !
BTW, Take a look at his sneakers, see the 3 bands on the side ? Looks like they were maybe made using Adidas...

YEAH JOBERG, BELGIUM RULES !!! (at least, on the feather thing !)
You're right regarding the cutlery, the handles were white plastic ! Found some pretty close but not totaly screen-accurate (the spoon shape is too square, compared to the original ones but the handles look accurate).
Those were purchased on eBay last year... I had to repaint the all handles white since they were rather ivory.
Oh, yes, the seller told me they were japanese ! (remember, Scott said in an interview the owners of the Nostromo are japanese ?)
