Hello,

For anyone still interested in my interpretation of Sebastian's chess set, I am doing another limited run. This time, in addition to the custom crated sets that I make, I am offering a standard cast set that includes only the 32 pieces. They can be used as is with minimal clean-up, or you can paint them as you wish. Also, I am offering a delux set that is hand painted, weighted, and finished. Images and details can be found at

www.reddragonkipplecompany.com

Currently, I am working on an original design lighted board that will be "value engineered" for feasibility, affordability, and yet, maintain quality. I hope to have this available very soon. When ready, I will post information at Red Dragon Kipple Company.

I know that since 2007 I've been constantly saying, "coming soon", on many things. Unfortunately, I've had to overcome some hurdles these past few years. I thank you for your patience with me. I have recently relocated to the Los Angeles area where I finally have a suitable work space, in which to finish these long promised projects. Not only am I revisiting the Sebastian project, but I will also be revamping www.pflagerkatsumata.com in order to finally offer "The Enforcer" gun, which has been collecting dust since 2007. I will follow it up with the three "Gaff" guns that are only partially finished now.

Thank you again for your continued interest in my work these past 15 years.

Sincerely,
Rick

I have wanted a chess set for some time now . . .

And as I am interested in Gaffs' "accoutrements", so your offerings, as well - especially having recently met Edward James Olmos/Gaff.

AMAZING!

I have dealt with Rick Ross for years now. His kits and builds have always been great and I was pleased when I read of his return.

Today I received my latest acquisition - his (Sebastian-inspired) chess set, and while I could only afford the Standard Set at this time, I have to report I was impressed - not only with the sculpting and repros of the pieces themselves, but with the packaging. Overall, very professionally executed.

And I was equally impressed with his timing. (While it is totally understandable) in many cases, my dealings with admittedly-talented propmakers has involved extended waiting times or overly-optimistic schedules. Rick has always been very prompt - in the past and again now. And very accommodating when a question arose or I had some request.

In short, a pleasure to be sure.

I plan to post images in the near future elsewhere on PS. But for now, I highly recommend this amazing set, and anything else Rick (and so 'Red Dragon Kipple') produces. Like others here, I look forward to his future offerings.

Thanks Rick!

Thank you all for your kind comments. I appreciate them greatly.

I have finally finished the last phase of my Sebastian Chess Set - the LCB Model 2012 Lighted Chess Board.

Prototype #1 (P1) S.I.G. is a one-of-a-kind homage to the character, J.F. Sebastian.

Prototype #2 (P2) is transitional.

LCB Model 2012 (P3) was design to fit into Sebastian's universe, like his bird chess set, to be an acquired piece of kipple that he has turned into non-kipple. Its two predecessors exists only in our universe. This one resides in both.

With the exception of tweaking a few design elements of the crate, this concludes my Sebastian Chess Set project. I hope you like it.

Sincerely,
Rick

Thanks for sharing your great art with us Rick; it's always a pleasure to see your work grace the pages of Propsummit.
Again, attention to details is present everywhere, even to the electrical plug, cord and switch style as well as those famous chess pieces.
Very cool indeed Cool

Why is it "Contact for price" on the website?
It would be much simpler if it was not withheld on the site.

My apologies for the misleading statement. I have revised the page to read, "If interested in this one-off item, please contact for information".

Because this is a one of a kind item and it represents an extreme number of hours of labor, as well as, cost of materials, I would rather discuss its possible sale on a one to one level. It's not something that I am really wanting to sell. However, if there is someone who is interested in it, I would be willing to discuss it.

Sorry again for the incorrect wording.

Sincerely,
Rick

No worries, that makes perfect sense Rick!

I did not know it was a one-off (and was baffled by the prospect of making many of them).

Knowing it's a one-of-a-kind piece makes it all the more impressive. I certainly don't have the finances for such a unique art, but I do have to commend you, based on the pictures, on the piece. Just lovely!

I appreciate you bringing it to my attention. I put the website up so quickly that I didn't proofread it well enough. After your posting, I had others to read that page for meaning and they all came back with the same interpretation - that it seemed I meant to make more like it. That was not my intention, of course.

Thank you, again.

Sincerely,
Rick
