|
|
Hi guys,
I just wanted to share with you the result of my latest project: This green saturn lamp!
The lamp started it's life as a white/blue model.
First I dissasembled the lamp, cleaned it, and removed the paint inside the dome. Then I applied many thin layers of green glass frosting paint to the outside of the different parts. Glass frosting paint is very thick and it's almost impossible to get an even layer witout pensel traces - so it was a loooong and painstaking process. Then I put the lamp parts in the oven for 30 minuts to harden the paint. As a finishing touch a layer of clear glass frosting spray was applied. This helped to hide the small irregularities in the paint job and also "re-frosted" the glass - ironically the glass had become more transparent after applying the green glass frosting paint!!
The electrical parts were all changed to fit the Danish/European power stadards of 220V and I found a small green light bulb for it....
I think the result is quite OK
