Yesterday, Richard Coyle brought to my attention that the centre of gravity of the holster is a bit high when holstering his all metal, live firing model.
For most people with resin or plastic models, the holster will be perfect, but if you plan on holstering and wearing a full metal blaster then do let me know.
All the full metal models are very top heavy
I can make a holster variant for you which drops the holster down a little lower on the belt.

Skin-Job, good to know!
I have a heavily modified Off-World with lots of metal parts, so might request that mod too! |

That's fine, but it would be good to know before we go ahead with the run.
The modification involves a completely different belt loop arrangement, with the holster much lower to drop the centre of gravity below the belt.
The holsters can be made with either belt loop, but can't be converted from one to the other as the new belt loop footprint is different.
So, please say so now and I'll put the additional info on the list.

Yes, I do.
To begin with, you can't just open the package and put the blaster in and expect it to fit comfortably. You can't do it with shoes, and you can't do it with holsters.
The new holster needs to be 'eased' first. Using a hammer handle or other long smooth shape, ease open the inside down in the holster toe, right down in the bottom. Push the leather outward firmly but gently. Push back toward the holster spine, opening it out and creating space. get your hands in there to help.
Now wet forming.
Wrap the blaster in cling film, then position it inside the holster.
DO NOT IMMERSE THE HOLSTER IN WATER.
Wet a new car sponge and gently rub the holster outer shell with slightly warm slightly, soapy water (just a drop of dish soap in a bowl of water) in circular motions until the leather has darkened evenly front and back. It'll look blotchy at first. This is fine.
Don't soak the leather, or it'll take days to dry out again. Just dampen the sponge frequently. Just dampen the leather, water should not be dripping off the holster.
When evenly darkened front and back, wipe the excess moisture off and leave it for a few minutes until the leather looks like it's just starting to lighten in colour again.
Gently, using just your hands, massage the leather into the shape you want. Firm, gentle pressure so as not to scar the leather.
Be careful of going too tight in around details or you'll 'lock' the blaster in. Just form the leather to a sympathetic shape.
When happy leave the blaster in for 15 minutes, then gently remove without disturbing the shape.
Set aside in a cool, airy place and let the holster dry overnight at least.
Once dry, the leather will be a little harder than it first was and will remember the new shapes.
Rub in a really good quality colourless beeswax 'proofing' with your fingertips, wipe off the excess with a clean rag. Wait an hour then buff with a soft, lint free cloth (old T-shirt).
Done. |

So, we have our fifth!
1. Charles Dickinson
2. Gprops (Metal version)
3. Phil_Reach
4. Pnag (Metal version)
5. Dougzz (Metal Version)
Although we can make the run happen with 5, so it's definitely happening, I want to leave this open for a week to give everyone a chance to get on board.
I have a hectic year ahead, and don't know when I'll be able to do another run, so I want to give as much notice as possible to those on the fence.
Many thanks you guys,
Karl |

My holster arrived a couple days ago and NOW you post this! I have one of Rich's metal, non-firing versions, the most recent updated model designed after his examination of the World Con Hero Blaster. It sounds like the altered holster might be the better choice if it's ever going to be worn, but I'm still not sure if I ever would wear it.
Photos of the holster I received will come soon-ish. At the moment, I'm trying to decide how much work I should put into forming it to the blaster. |

Jack. T. Chance,
I'm sorry the timing didn't work out perfectly for you. The information came to light very recently and I acted on it as fast as I could. As a gesture of goodwill, if you were to order the new metal version, I would ship it free for you.
Ki-Djowac,
Glad you like it. Yes, I use very high quality leather.
You should possibly consider wet forming the holster, it will give it a lot more character.
